November Star Student Arabella

Arabella was one of our November Star Students.  Her Mom joined the class to celebrate her hard work and great behavior! Arabella enjoys writing and doing things with her family.

November Star Student Braden

Braden's Mom and Dad joined the class in celebrating him as one of our November Star Students.  He is a great class helper and kind to others. Braden enjoys math and playing baseball. 

Welcome Baby Eli

                                  Eli was born on Oct 14th and weighed 7 pounds 12 oz.

October Star Student

Kennedy is one of our October Star Students.  Kennedy is new to Alimacani this year. She loves reading and helping others.  Her family joined us in celebrating her hard work and great behavior and brought in yummy cookies to share.

Fire Safety

Captain McAvoy from the Jax Beach Fire Station came to discuss fire safety with our 1st grade classes.  The students enjoyed learning about his gear, what his job is like, and fire safety tips.  A big thank you to Captain McAvoy for coming in!

CHUM'S CHALLENGE!

The Jacksonville Sharks mascot, Chum, is back at Alimacani again this year for his Reading Challenge!  Students in grades K-2 are challenged to read 20 books at home to meet their first reading goal.  Students who reach this goal will be awarded prizes from Chum.  Ready, set, READ!!

Star Student Julian!

Julian is one of our September Star Students.  He likes playing games at home with his family and enjoys learning Math at school.  His Mom joined us to celebrate and brought in delicious cupcakes to share!

Destination Success!

Destination Success is a wonderful website provided by Duval County with a large variety of Math and Reading activities and games.  These activities will match with standards and themes we are working on in class.  I am able to assign activities that can be adjusted to each child's learning needs. Click on the link on the right to access the site to login.  You will need your child's personal login (handed out at Open House - please let me know if you need it again).  Thank you for your support at home!

Star Student Grace

Grace is one of our Sept Star Students.  She enjoys dancing and PE. Grace's parents joined us to celebrate and brought in a healthy treat of grapes and watermelon. Yum!

Welcome to Mrs. Ridout's First Grade!

We are gearing up for a great year filled with many adventures in Room 34!  I am so excited to have your child in my First Grade class! Here are some upcoming important dates:

May Star Student Jude!

Jude is one of our May Star Students.  Jude joined our class this spring.  He loves playing on the computer and video games.  He is great at Math and enjoys helping others.  His Mom joined us and brought yummy granola bars to share.

Hats!

Michael's Grandmother, Ms. Barrett, visited our class for a read aloud of "Aunt Flossie's Hats" and shared her collection of hats with the class.  Ms. Barrett told the students where she had collected all her hats from and why they were special to her.  Thank you for joining us and sharing Ms. B!

April Star Student - Hayden

Hayden is one of our April star students.  He loves Math and playing baseball.  His Dad, Mom, and sister Chloe joined us to celebrate Hayden.  They brought delicious chocolate covered marshmallows to share. Yum yum!

March Star Students!

Our March Star Students were Michael L and Jaidyn.  Both students love Math and playing video games.  They are very sweet and are great class helpers!

Jordan is one of our February Star Students.  Jordan loves Math and playing video games with his brother and Dad. Jordan's Dad joined us to celebrate and brought in delicious pumpkin pie and muffins!

100th Day of School!

The students were very excited to celebrate the 100th day of school. I am so proud of all of their hard work this year and look forward to many more fun activities and events to come. Happy 100th!

WAES Stars!

Our class is up to 30 cans donated for the 2013 SOUPERBOWL.  We were asked to come on WAES for our great efforts in the soup drive. Thanks to all who have donated items!

January Star Student Imani!

Imani is one of our Star Students for January. She is so sweet and loves to learn at centers.  Her Nana joined us to celebrate and brought in yummy cheese sticks for the class.

January Star Student Nicholas!

Nicholas was one of our Star Students for the month of January. Nicholas loves Math, Art, and Spiderman.  His Mom and Dad joined us for his celebration and brought delicious white chocolate s'mores and brownies!
