December Star Students

Ethan and Ava were our two December Star Students.  They both love to help in class. Ava enjoy organizing my desk and reading. Ethan likes math and recess. Keep up the great work!

October Star Students!

Congrats to our two October Star Students!!! Jeremiah loves PE and Fernanda enjoys going to the library.  Keep up the great work!

Star Students!

Congrats to JP and Olyvia for being our first star students this year. They are great class helpers and are kind to others.  JP loves Reflex math and Olyvia enjoys reading and centers. Keep up the great work!

Surf's Up!

Surf's Up at Alimicani!!! I am so excited to have your child in my first grade this year.  We have an exciting year ahead with many fun activities and units.  I will post pictures, updates, and star students on my blog during the school year.  You will also find links to sources to use at home. I look forward to "riding the waves" together to help each and every student surf to success!!!

May Star Students

Jayvian, Lauren, and Elijah are our May star students.  Jayvian enjoys math and PE.  Lauren enjoys science and PE.  Elijah also PE and science.  Congrats to these 3!

April Star Students

Staci and Andrew are our April Star Students.  Andrew enjoys reading and playing on the swings. Staci loves math and playing outside with her friends.  Congrats to these two students!

Titanic Reports

The class enjoyed researching more facts about the Titanic using newspaper and Scholastic articles. They enjoyed hearing sections of my great grandmothers article  (she and my great great grandfather were passengers and she survived) and working in groups to record new interesting learned facts from the articles.  Students will be working on writing their Titanic reports.

March Star Students

Barett and Julia were our two March Star Students!!! They both love math and helping others.

Upcoming Important Dates

Wed, Nov 3rd: Early Release

Friday, Nov 6th: JCA fieldtrip. Remember to send a bagged lunch unless you ordered one from the cafeteria. The buses will be leaving around 9:15am.

Wed, Nov 11th: No school - Veteran's Day

*Book Fair- the book fair will be at our media center the next two weeks. Please send any money in a labeled envelope. Thank you!

* I am looking for volunteers to help switch out student math activity book binders. :-) Many thanks to our awesome volunteers!!!!

October Star Students

Lilly and Finn are our two October Star Students. They both are wonderful class helpers. Finn enjoys math and Lilly loves to read. Congrats to these two on their hard work!

Fire Safety

Capt McAvoy from Jax Beach fire dept came to teach first graders about fire safety. They enjoyed seeing all his fire gear and learning safety tips. A big thank you to Capt McAvoy for visiting our students!

Dr Alterman visits our class

Today we had a local chiropractor visit our classroom to teach the students more about their nervous and skeletal systems. The class loved seeing her spine model and asking her questions. A big thank you to Dr Alterman for visiting our class today! 

September Star Students

Emily and Logan are our Sept star students. They both enjoy math and are great class helpers!

Our Body

The students have been enjoying studying their body systems. Come check out the hallway board with facts about our circulatory, nervous, digestive, skeletal, and muscular systems!

10's Go Fish!

Today the class practiced playing another game of combinations. For this game they ask a partner for a number card to make a combination of 10.

Shake Those Disks With 8!

The students have been practicing combinations (number bonds) this week. Today we played a fun game practicing combinations of 8.

Flag raising

Today was our first flag raising ceremony of the school year. Parents and guests are always welcome to join us for these ceremonies each month.
