Surf's Up!

Surf's Up at Alimicani!!! I am so excited to have your child in my first grade this year.  We have an exciting year ahead with many fun activities and units.  I will post pictures, updates, and star students on my blog during the school year.  You will also find links to sources to use at home. I look forward to "riding the waves" together to help each and every student surf to success!!!

May Star Students

Jayvian, Lauren, and Elijah are our May star students.  Jayvian enjoys math and PE.  Lauren enjoys science and PE.  Elijah also PE and science.  Congrats to these 3!

April Star Students

Staci and Andrew are our April Star Students.  Andrew enjoys reading and playing on the swings. Staci loves math and playing outside with her friends.  Congrats to these two students!

Titanic Reports

The class enjoyed researching more facts about the Titanic using newspaper and Scholastic articles. They enjoyed hearing sections of my great grandmothers article  (she and my great great grandfather were passengers and she survived) and working in groups to record new interesting learned facts from the articles.  Students will be working on writing their Titanic reports.

April 29th- No School (weather day) 

March Star Students

Barett and Julia were our two March Star Students!!! They both love math and helping others.

Upcoming Important Dates

Wed, Nov 3rd: Early Release

Friday, Nov 6th: JCA fieldtrip. Remember to send a bagged lunch unless you ordered one from the cafeteria. The buses will be leaving around 9:15am.

Wed, Nov 11th: No school - Veteran's Day

*Book Fair- the book fair will be at our media center the next two weeks. Please send any money in a labeled envelope. Thank you!
